New membership deals for NHS teams and lower paid practitioners
We are very keen to make membership accessible for all interested practitioners and people from different communities and backgrounds. However we seem not to be succeeding in this – only 9% of our members are nurses, although nursing is by far the largest of the mental health professions. Only 4% of members are social workers or occupational therapists. Members of these less represented professions are more likely to be put off by the costs of joining, since they are typically on substantially lower pay bands than our two largest categories of member (psychologists and psychiatrists). However, these are absolutely critical groups for the promotion of psychological and social approaches to psychosis.
Special Rates for Teams/Organisations
At the moment we have the option of special rates for group members, but have very few group members. Some people have said their team would be more likely to join if the group membership included the journal Psychosis. So for a trial period group membership will include one copy of the journal, as well as all existing benefits (member rate conference places, discount on ISPS books) for the following rates:
- Up to 30 employees: £72.50 (Up to 3 member rate conference places and 3 discounted copies of each ISPS book)
- 30-100 employees: £112.50 (Up to 5 member rate conference places and 5 discounted copies of each ISPS books)
- Over 100 employees: £212. 50 (Up to 10 member rate conference places and 10 discounted copies of each ISPS book)
Group members will also have the option of purchasing a limited number of additional copies of the journal at cost price.
Reduced rates for new members from BAME communities
We are committed to increasing the diversity of our membership. We are currently able to offer new members who identify as BAME our reduced membership fee of £35 (including journal membership).
Reduced rates for lower paid practitioners.
As a special offer, those working in mental health services in posts banded below Band 7 (i.e. up to and including those working on Band 6) are currently entitled to our reduced membership rate of £35. This is a time limited offer.
We already have a reduced membership fee available for people with personal experience of psychosis and their family members.
