Join the ISPS UK Committee

ISPS UK is a registered charity (CIO) which is governed by a board of trustees (ISPS UK Committee). We are currently seeking new trustees to join the board and support our work.

What is a trustee? A trustee is a member of the Committee that coordinates and supports the activities of ISPS UK. Our trustees come from a range of backgrounds: professionals working within mental health services, family members, people who have lived experience of mental health distress, and others with a particular interest in the values of ISPS. What does being a trustee involve? Trustees attend committee meetings which usually take place a minimum of 4 times per year. Additionally, the committee undertake a range of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the organisation such as arranging/hosting workshops and conferences from time to time. Being a trustee requires commitment to ISPS UK, it’s values and philosophy, which are our explained our website: https://www.ispsuk.org/about-isps-uk/isps-uk-values-statement/ When activities are organised in person, expenses are paid to attend, but there is no other payment for time or commitment. Being on the Committee brings the benefits of working with a supportive team, learning new skills and free attendance at our events. Who are we looking for? As ISPS UK is a membership organisation representing and bringing together a broad variety of people, we would welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, who can introduce a range of perspectives from within our community. We are keen to hear from individuals with expertise in: Strategic development, fundraising, racism/inequality in psychosis care. What is key is that you have the time and enthusiasm to support the organisation as fully as possible. In line with the guidelines of the Charity Commission background checks will be undertaken to ensure that applicants have not been disbarred from work with other charities plus they are asked to sign a declaration that they have not been disqualified from acting.
